Innovation

  • Windows, specifically glass per square foot is the greatest source of energy loss related to conditioned spaces.
Combining dual pane technology with photovoltaic films and coatings presents the potential of improving, through radiant intervention, the insulation value of glazing systems.  B. Glowiak, patent pending, is seeking research and development assistance for refinement of this concept.
  • Sun Screen and Solar Glean.
B. Glowiak researched this concept in the early 1970's.  Based on the thought that form and function produces unity, the intent is to minimize direct sun penetration while maximizing photovoltaic collection and effects through meticulous application of solar azimuth and altitude data for a specific location and orientation.  A result of this investigation was modeled and is graphically displayed below.  With Ann Arbor, Michigan as the target location, notice the indirect lighting established for the interior cube envelope.  While the total concept has never been applied, detail aspects have been incorporated by B. Glowiak in various projects throughout his career.
