Imagine using photovoltaic solar energy in your backyard to extract hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe, from your well water and then using the hydrogen to power your fuel-cell automobile while at the same time channeling a portion of the hydrogen to your Bloom Box transformer to provide electricity for your home.  The video at the following link shows just how close science is to achieving this possibility. The by-product of using hydrogen is water ... more fuel, who would have thought.  Combined with synthetic oils for lubrication ... the possibilities are endless.
